We watched this documentary recently called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and in it the guy goes on a 60 day juice cleanse to get back to health. It was amazing. He transformed in two months on the inside as well as on the outside. We decided it would be fun to try it out and get a juicer. We put it on the wedding registry in hopes that we would be able to get a discount on it if we bought it for ourselves. We went to the store the next day and printed out the remaining items on the registry. It wasn't on there. We assumed you couldn't add juicers to your registry if you were already married for two months. We ordered our own in the store and were told it would arrive in two weeks. Well yesterday it showed up, along with another one that was gift wrapped. I was really confused when I saw that there were two big boxes instead of just one. I opened the first one, the one that we had ordered and then I opened the other one. It turned out to be a late wedding gift! I was so surprised! I guess as soon as we put it on the registry, someone saw it and bought it before we did. {Needless to say I jumped on the registry to add more items just in case there were anymore late people.}
We love our juicer! we have already juiced so many things! The first recipe we tried was Mean-Green Juice from the documentary. It involves:
Six kale leaves
One cucumber
Four celery stalks
Two green apples
Half a lemon
One piece of ginger
This morning, we tried another recipe:
Three Braeburn apples
Three oranges
Half a lemon
One Asian pear
Broccoli
Two handfuls grapes
Handful spinach
We are still trying to get the hang of it, but we'll keep you posted with any recipes we find that we really like.
